Claudia Sheinbaum and Xóchitl Gálvez are in a “technical tie”, according to Massive Caller

Just over a month before the elections, the margin of preference for voting for the candidates for the Presidency of Mexico is closing, according to Massive Caller, whose survey conducted on April 24 shows an advantage of only 2.7 points over Claudia Sheinbaum over Xóchitl Gálvez.

This means that the gap between the candidates of Siguamos haciendo Historia (Let’s Keep Making History) and Fuerza y Corazón por México (Strength and Heart for México) continues to close, since 10 days ago, the April 14 survey showed a difference of 4.7 points.

In this way, Xóchitl Gálvez and Claudia Sheinbaum are in the so-called “technical tie”, which is considered when the difference between the leading candidates in a poll is equal to or less than the margin of error of the study.

The Massive Caller poll from April 24 shows a difference of 2.7 points when the margin of error is +/-3.4%.

On April 25, Massive Caller shared the results of its April 24 poll on voting preferences for the presidency of Mexico:

Claudia Sheinbaum, a candidate from Morena, PT and PVEM (Sigamos haciendo Historia) received 40.3% of the preferences, and Xóchitl Gálvez, from the PAN, PRI and PRD (Fuerza y Corazón por México) 37.6%, that is, a difference of 2.7 percentage points.

Jorge Alvarez Máynez, from Movimiento Ciudadano, remains in third place in voting preferences with 8.7%, although it rose compared to the 4.6% he had 10 days ago. Those who were undecided went from 16.5% to 13.4% in that period.

It should be noted that the difference between the candidates is at its lowest point since Massive Caller polls began. The elections in Mexico will be on Sunday, June 2, 2024, when the president, eight governorships, the head of government of Mexico City, 128 senatorial offices, 500 federal deputies, as well as local deputies, city councils, and mayors will be elected.
