What is happening with the water wells in San Miguel de Allende?

the Potable Water and Sewerage System of San Miguel de Allende (SAPASMA) urged the population to use water sparingly and only for essential activities. This is due to some wells experiencing failures in the electrical power supply, causing low water pressure in some neighborhoods.

The lack of electrical power and low voltage in some areas of the municipality have prevented some wells from operating at 100 percent. Although the potable water service has not been suspended in any area of the city, low pressure has been reported in various neighborhoods as the tanks empty according to demand.

SAPASMA remains in constant communication with the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) to ensure that the impacts are as brief as possible and to keep the citizens informed about possible suspensions.

The municipal utility requests the cooperation of the citizens to make measured use of water and invites them to report leaks for immediate attention and to avoid waste.

Leaks can be reported on the telephone number 415 152 4641.
