‘Vote by vote’ Mauricio Trejo’s victory is confirmed in San Miguel de Allende

After a long day of counting the votes, the electoral authority finally validated Mauricio Trejo in San Miguel de Allende.

San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato.- After having carried out the total recount of the polling stations installed for the election of City Council in San Miguel de Allende, the advantage of the PRI candidate, Mauricio Trejo Pureco, was maintained, with 33.77% of the vote, is set to preside over the municipality for the third time, by obtaining 486 more votes than the Morena candidate, Osvaldo García.

After concluding the recount of votes from the 255 polling stations, the results showed a total of 26,274 votes in favor of Trejo Pureco and 25,788 votes in support of Osvaldo García, registering a difference of 0.62% between them.

The total recount took place after the results obtained during the partial recount indicated that the difference between the PRI candidate, Mauricio Trejo Pureco, and the Morena candidate, Osvaldo García Arteaga, was reduced to 0.7 percent.
