Car passengers rescued from a river in the municipality of San Miguel de Allende

San Miguel de Allende, Gto.- Three people traveling aboard a truck were rescued by agents of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), after being trapped in the water crossing.

The events occurred during the early hours of Sunday, June 30th, in the community of Tierra Blanca.

Agents of the Municipal Police went to the scene responding to the timely report of the situation and requested the support of the Red Cross.

After carrying out an assessment, the people could be extracted and are in stable health.

In this rainy season, the municipal agency asks to heed the instructions of the authorities, mainly Civil Protection, and issued the following recommendations:

– Prepare an emergency backpack for evacuation, with bottled water, non-perishable canned foods, hygiene products, and important documents in resealable bags.
– Avoid transit through areas prone to flooding.
– Avoid pedestrian crossing of streets with flowing water.
– Do not enter bodies of water: dams, streams, rivers, canals, or any other
– Do not approach the watercourse.
– Avoid areas prone to flooding or very large puddles.

In the event of an extraordinary contingency, the Civil Protection Directorate is ready to receive citizen reports by calling the 9-1-1 Emergency System, from where all the city’s emergency bodies will be activated, coordinated by the Ministry of Emergency Services. Citizen Security (SSC).

With prevention in this rainy season, the Municipal Government, through the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), continues working for the population in San Miguel de Allende.
