President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo received the president of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), Francisco Cervantes Díaz, at the National Palace, with whom she spoke about private investments in the country.

Through social media, Sheinbaum Pardo shared that the federal government maintains good relations with the commercial and economic sectors, without giving further details.

“I received at the National Palace the visit of Francisco Cervantes Díaz, president of the Business Coordinating Council, to talk about the investments in the country. We maintain good relations with the commercial and economic sectors,” wrote the President.

Upon leaving the National Palace, Cervantes Díaz shared with the media that there would be a lot of mutual help between businessmen and the government; “it was a very good work meeting,” she said.

Last Friday, Claudia Sheinbaum announced that she intended to meet with businessmen, many of whom Rogelio Ramírez de la O, head of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, had already contacted.

One of the objectives, he said, is to ratify the agreement that the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador had with businessmen from the food sector to keep the prices of the basic basket stable and that these do not increase considerably.

According to the president of the CCE, the issue was addressed this morning, and said prices will remain stable, as he declared to the media. Will the basic basket be kept (stable), did they talk about that issue? Cervantes was asked.

“Among many issues, yes, yes; we are going to help a lot,” he answered.

Another of the President’s intentions to meet with businessmen is to discuss the issues of investments focused on regional development and the relocation of companies or “nearshoring.”

In addition to planning meetings with Mexican businessmen, Sheinbaum Pardo also anticipated meetings with the business sector of the United States, as well as with train manufacturing companies.
