The events took place on Prolongación de Aldama Street, near the corner of Quito.

The violence claimed two fatal victims, and according to the authorities’ report, the attack occurred on Tuesday, March 4, when residents of the area called 911 after hearing at least eight gunshots.

Municipal Police officers went to the scene and found a lifeless man lying on the street. Upon checking a nearby home, they found another person who had also been attacked.

They immediately requested the support of Red Cross paramedics, who confirmed that both victims no longer showed vital signs.

The area was cordoned off by security agents awaiting the arrival of Criminal Investigation Agents (AIC), who collected evidence to clarify the attack.

The bodies were later transferred to the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO) to perform the legal autopsy.

So far, no details have been released about those responsible or the possible motive for the crime, although there are C4 cameras very close to the place so they will be reviewed to find the attackers.

This violent event adds to a series of armed attacks recorded in the region in recent months, which has raised alarms among the population and the authorities. The Attorney General of the State of Guanajuato stated that the investigation is ongoing, but as usual, no arrests have been made yet.
