For the second consecutive year, San Miguel de Allende will host “La Classicissima”, with more than 1,000 cyclists and routes through three municipalities of Guanajuato.

For the second consecutive year, San Miguel de Allende will host “La Classicissima”, Mexico edition, one of the most emblematic competitions of international cycling, organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce that will take place on Saturday, March 8 with the participation of more than 1,000 cyclists from around the world.

José Cruz González, director of the Municipal Sports Commission, announced that in this edition the organizers have made the decision to establish San Miguel de Allende as the permanent venue for the event, so “La Classicissima” will continue to be held in the municipality every year.

Competitors will be able to choose between three routes, designed for different levels of endurance and ability, which include routes through three municipalities of the state, San Miguel de Allende, Dolores Hidalgo and Guanajuato capital.

The starting point will be the iconic Parish of San Miguel Arcángel at 6:30 in the morning, so that the cyclists can begin their route that will culminate with a meeting at Viñedo San Lucas.

During the event, there will also be the “Italia es Bici” exhibition, where more than 20 brands will exhibit the best of Italian cycling in Mexico.

Routes:

  • Gran Fondo: 250 km, +3000 m elevation (SMA – Dolores Hidalgo – Guanajuato)
  • Medio Fondo: 148 km, +1600 m elevation (SMA – Dolores Hidalgo)
  • Ruta Corta: 76 km, +900 m elevation (SMA and surroundings)
