Guanajuato among the five states that received more travelers through Airbnb

Baja California Sur, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Mexico City and Quintana Roo, were the states that received more travelers through Airbnb during the summer of 2018, while the most requested cities were Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende, Cancun and Playa del Carmen.

Airbnb state that in Mexico, hosts and travelers are using this technology as an inclusion tool to keep their homes afloat and to travel more, proof of this is that more than half of the senior citizens who used the platform to plan their summer trips, did it for the first time. Besides, their trips were longer than usual, with six nights on average

From January to June of this year, the community of hosts and travelers of Airbnb generated an economic activity in the country for more than 26 billion pesos, a figure that adds up the profits of hosts with guest expenses.

Adding up the amounts of the five states that received more visitors through the Airbnb platform during the summer, Airbnb hosts made more than 400 million pesos.

Airbnb hosts set the prices of the ads they upload to the platform; 97 percent of the price of each reservation made on their properties goes directly to their pockets, Airbnb only charges 3%.
