Robberies continue in San Miguel; alleged thief arrested

In San Miguel de Allende, Secretariat of Public Security officers along with Municipal Transit and Civil Protection personnel captured a man who is accused of stealing several objects from a van. Immediately, he was taken before Guanajuato’s Public Ministry.

The incident happened when the law enforcement agents carried out a security operation. Some neighbors reported that an alleged thief was very close to Parque Juárez, so they immediately started an operation to find this individual, who was in Callejón de Baeza. The officers detected a Toyota SUV and a man on board who was suspicious.

The police stopped the vehicle to carry out an inspection, when the man tried to flee, but the officers detained him. Afterwards the officers checked him and found two laptops, a bag and several women’s articles.

The 40-year-old man said that he is from Celaya. Then, he was arrested and taken before the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will carry out the proper investigations.
