The 2016 edition includes the challenge of a new Guinness Record, Sunday parade, sung masses, public gala performance, cultural pavilion, a special concert, mariachi galas in shopping malls, charro championship and music workshops, among other activities, Notimex reported.
For the eighth consecutive time, within the framework of the Mariachi and Horsemanship International Meeting, a Guinness record was set, this time with the world’s largest mosaic featuring charro hats.
Under the certification of Guinness World Records from the United States, this record was set at Plaza de la Liberacion, located in the historic center of Guadalajara.
According to the local National Chamber of Commerce (Canaco, for its acronym in Spanish), organizer of the meeting, there will be a full program of Mariachi Galas presented in the majestic Degollado Theater, which has become the most representative of the event.
And the best mariachis in the world will interpret traditional Mexican music with classical sounds for the audience’s delight in a beautiful musical ensemble with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Jalisco.
The Galas are made up of three acts; the first with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Jalisco overture, during the second each of the three mariachi groups participating will share the stage, and the third with mariachis playing the best of their repertoire individually.
In this context, it is also celebrated the Horsemanship Championship, which year after year is one of the Horsemanship pillars, for which several teams in the country are attending and competing to win the trophy. This event is performed in the Lienzo Charro “Nito Aceves”, located in the municipality of Tlajomulco de Zuñiga.
In 2016 the 17th National Horsemanship Championship will be carried out as a sport par excellence in Mexico with the best Horseman teams, skirmishing and live mariachi music.
