The vast majority of these events have been conducted in collaboration with Mexican institutions including la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, la Universidad de Guadalajara and el Instituto Politécnico Nacional.

The aim of Dual Year initiatives is to create a closer and long-term link between Mexico and Germany, reinforcing the “Alliance for the future”, which is the theme of this binational meeting.

Highlights of the Dual Year to date include the Gala Concert performed by the German Youth Orchestra at the Palace of Bellas Artes in June.

In addition, 379 projects participated in the German initiative called Matching Funds, which grants up to 10 thousand euros towards innovative proposals on the six thematic axes of the Dual Year. Of these 18 were selected for presentation in 2016 and 20 more will take place in 2017.
