January 20 (SeeNews) – Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa (BME:GAM) said today it has received two orders from compatriot utility Iberdrola (BME:IBE) to supply a total of 325.5 MW of turbines in Mexico.

Under one of the orders, Gamesa will install and commission 220.5 MW of turbines, 84 units of its G114-2.625 MW machine, at the Pier IV wind farm in the state of Puebla. Delivery is scheduled for early 2018, with the wind farm expected to be commissioned in March 2019.

The second order calls for the supply of 50 pieces of Gamesa’s G114-2.1 MW turbine, totalling 105 MW, for the Santiago Eolico wind farm in the state of Guanajuato. Installation of the turbines is due to take place during the second half of 2018 and the project is scheduled to start operations in April 2019.

The contracts were signed in the final quarter of 2016. They add to the 360 MW of turbines Gamesa has already supplied to wind farms developed by Iberdrola in Mexico. Overall, the manufacturer has installed 1,100 turbines in the country, representing almost 1,900 MW of capacity.
