During last weekend, several executions occurred in the municipality of León, Guanajuato; leaving a total of nine dead, including some dismembered bodies found in the outskirts of the city, near a rural road, and only a few meters away from the entrance to a spa-resort.
Although, mayor of León, Hector Lopez Santillana pointed out that, the crime rate has gone down during the current Municipal administration, Lopez fellow members of the PAN political party, rejected the mayor’s statement, and said that a lot of work needs to be done in León.

On Saturday February 4th, four dismembered bodies were found in the rural community of Duarte, near the hot springs resort of Comanjilla.
The ropes with which the assassins would have tied up their victims’ hands and feet were found onsite. However, it is still unknown whether they consummated the crime at that place or somewhere else.
All the bodies wore the same uniform, gray shirts, denim trousers and black working boots. The remains were found Saturday afternoon on a dirt road leading to the tourist center.
On Sunday February 5th, after 1:00 p.m., a man was killed during a shooting; he recieved several bullet impacts to his chest while driving his car.
Witnesses declared that, the gray Honda driven by the victim was ambushed by two trucks, and that the driver was shot by several shooters.
61-year-old Isidro Bueno Nicasio known as ‘El Chivas’, was murdered on a motorcycle drive-by shooting at “Barrio de San Miguel”, while he was going home accompanied by other some friends after having attended the funeral of a man who died due to a respiratory arrest.
A 44-year-old man was killed by an armed group when he received ten shots to the chest at close range.
The victim, identified as “Jesús”, was ambushed by the occupants of two trucks, while he was driving a white Chevrolet Aveo sedan with 905-ZWD license plates from the state of Tlaxcala.
A 36-year-old mechanic, known as ‘El Chencho’, was killed in his own workshop by a subject with whom he had a previous argument. This crime happened in the neighborhood of “Obregon”, at 330 Calle Noriega on the corner with Allende.
It should be noted that, until ten in the morning of Tuesday February 7, absolutely nobody had been arrested in relation with any of these terrible crimes.
