GUANAJUATO, Gto- The Government of Guanajuato announced the seventh “Mujeres abriendo camino” Women’s race will take place on Sunday March 19 on the streets of the historic state capital.
The Director General of Women’s Affairs Guanajuato, Lourdes Elena Gazol Patiño explained: “for this year’s race, the organizing committee expects the presence of at least 500 runners under the theme: “Safe Public Spaces Safe”.
Gazol Patiño also said that ‘street harassment’ is a type of violence typified in the law. Although, this crime not regularly denounced by women, it does require the attention of all society sectors in order to eradicate it.
The participants can run in the following categories:
- Children
- Female master
- Female youth
- Free
There will also be a family walk at the end of the competition that will take place outside the Teatro Juárez.
The registration is totally free.
