In honor of the Rotary Foundation’s centennial year, all members of the Rotary Club of San Miguel de Allende – Midday have become Paul Harris Fellows, which means that each has donated $1,000 USD to the Foundation, whose slogan is Doing Good in the World. To celebrate this milestone, Maria Molina, the Foundation’s major gift and annual fund officer for this district, will speak Tuesday, March 28, at 12:30 p.m. at Hotel Mision, Salida a Queretaro 1. The meeting will be free and in English, and the public is invited.
The Rotary Foundation transforms gifts into projects that change lives around the world, such as eradicating polio and promoting peace. Foundation grants empower Rotarians to approach challenges such as poverty, illiteracy, and malnutrition with sustainable solutions that leave a lasting impact.
Paul Harris was the founder of Rotary. Being an All Paul Harris Club will enhance Midday’s ability to gain international support and grants for local projects. While all 24 members of Midday are Paul Harris Fellows, 3 have donated in this way twice, two have donated in this way three times, and one has donated in this way six times!
Midday has invested more than a million dollars in local projects such as the creation of water harvesting systems in the campo over the past 12 years. “I am gratified that our club has risen to the challenge of becoming an All Paul Harris Club this centennial year of the Foundation,” said President Nate Fultz.
Molina’s presentation will touch on how to include the Rotary Foundation as a bequest in your estate and other major donation opportunities. She also will speak in Spanish at the Rotary Club of San Miguel de Allende on Wednesday, March 29, at 8 p.m. at the Quinta Loreto meeting room.
Rotary is where neighbors, friends, and problem-solvers share ideas, join leaders, and take action to create lasting change. For more information, contact Fultz at [email protected] and see RotarySMAMidday.org.
