Importers and exporters from Mexico, Canada and the U.S. to meet in León

The Produce Marketing Association is hosting the 10th annual edition of Fresh Connections: Mexico, on May 24-25 in León, Guanajuato, Mexico.
The two-day event brings together produce suppliers and buyers from many countries for networking, education sessions and an expo featuring nearly 40 international product and service providers, according to a news release. Information and registration for the event is available online.
Participants include buyers from the U.S. and Mexico, global exporters and members of Mexico’s produce supply chain, according to the release.
Nancy Tucker, PMA vice president of global business development, said in the release that most of Mexico’s major retailers attend the event.

The event includes a session led by Alice Gomez, vice president of the food and agriculture practice group at Cornerstone Government Affairs, called “The First 100 Days: The U.S. Administration & You.”
Bob Whitaker, PMA chief science and technology officer, will lead an education session to help participants understand what’s required to meet regulatory and consumer demands for safe produce, according to the release.
The event also will feature a session on organic produce that will provide insights from leading companies that are using trends, sales methods and technologies to increase market share.
