The administration of President Donald Trump asked the Congress for 1.6 billion dollars for the first phase of the construction of the wall

According to “El Universal”, the government of Donald Trump believes that they will be able to begin the construction of the promised wall on the border between the United States and Mexico during the months of March or April 2018, provided that all the established deadlines are fulfilled and the requested funding is granted.

The Interim Border Patrol chief, Carla Provost, said today during an audience at the House of Representatives that the priority areas would be San Diego, California, where it would be necessary to repair an “old-fashioned” fence and the Rio Grande Valley area (Texas), where construction of the new wall would begin in the spring of next year.

The administration of President Donald Trump asked the Congress for 1.6 billion dollars for the first phase of the construction of the wall, one of his main electoral promises.

It has been months now since the bidding process for the wall began, which is in its second phase. According to the schedule, a dozen finalists of the public bidding have already been notified and prototype construction is expected to take place at the end of the summer.

On the other hand, Provost recognized that a wall wouldn’t be necessary for the spaces with a natural border.
