RUBEN AMARO is a patient and gentle instructor of this ancient Encaustic art form. He is widely recognized on the continent for images of horses and Flamenco dancers.

His skill and collections in Encuaustic are unique. He has studied extensively with Maestro Francisco de Santiago Silva in the traditional technique and offers us all time to explore the medium as beginners.

In the historic colonia San Antonio tucked away in San Miguel Allende Mary Jane Miller will host Ruben Amaro as a Guest artist in the studio this August.

We will have several of his original works on display. The atmosphere is quiet and ideal for this event.

Ruben Amaro will first offer a short history intro. and as we progress, he will show a slide show on Wednesday August 9, public welcome.

The work space and materials are safe, and ventilated while demonstrating the making of the medium, mixing paint, applying, fusing paint, and assisting us to create textures and smoothness.

All details of working with and handling paintings are covered. We will have ample time to apply the medium in a couple of ways and how to use the heat source to accomplish your goals. You will come away with several encaustic paintings.

Offering two sessions Mornings or Afternoons 5 days from August 7 to 11, 2017

9 AM to 12 Noon or 2 PM to 5 PM only 2,400 pesos for the week
