According to San Diego Red, on Wednesday, September 6, the French artist “JR” began the installation of a large piece on the border fence that divides the city of Tecate Baja California with Chulavista, in the state of California on the other side of the border.

From the Mexican side, in the municipality of Tecate, the great image of a baby boy was raised with the help of local residents generating immediate attention.

The large piece is the image of a little boy in whose perspective seen from the other side of the border seems to be taking the border wall with his hands.

Journalist Jorge Ramos came personally from the American side to interview the artist, which immediately caused the image to become viral on social networks.

The artist is recognized for filling spaces with large format photographs in spaces such as buildings, bridges and of course, walls.

The boy in the photo is “Kikito”, a child of the area whose real name is “Francisco”, only one year old.

According to San Diego Red, the artist did not have the support of any Mexican authority, but only from the people of the municipality of Tecate, and he will be giving a lecture at the Centro Cultural de Tecate to explain the conceptual meaning of his work.

Thousands of different messages can be sent through this piece… that paradoxically was erected on the same day that the President of the United States, Donald Trump reversed the DACA.
