The video of a man showing a great love for his country went viral on social networks on Friday September 8.

The video in which a resident of Juchitán, Oaxaca rescues the Mexican flag from a pile of rubble and debris of what used to be the Municipal Palace of his hometown Juchitán, after it was destroyed by the earthquake of 8.2 degreesin the Richter scale registered on the night of Thursday September 7th, shows a great spirit of patriotism.

The Juchiteco man ties the flag to a stick and somehow lifts it there and leaves it standing in a pile of debris. The images were captured by a local journalist who published the footage on the @RedIndignada Twitter account.

In the recording, that lasts more than two minutes, it is seen how the man rescues the flag, ties it to some kind of improvised pole and places it next to the debris, as a sign of solidarity and patriotism, that clearly says: “Mexico is still standing“.
