On Sunday November 5, a man jumped to his death from the Trump International Hotel and Tower near New York City’s Central Park .

According to the New York Daily News, the man, identified as 41-year-old Kyle Mulrooney, fell 44 stories shortly after 6 a.m. ET Sunday and was declared dead at the scene.

Mulrooney’s body was discovered behind the hotel marquee in the front courtyard of the building near the sidewalk.

Police said he had a history of schizophrenia and his family had an apartment in the tower.

Authorities don’t suspect foul play. Though the claim has been disputed, the New York Post reported Mulrooney’s 67-year-old mother phoned 911 to tell police that her son was mentally ill, using drugs and planned to commit suicide.

President Donald Trump’s namesake hotels have been a source of contention as well as the site of numerous incidents since he took office earlier this year.

In April, a man was arrested for igniting fires at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas while the president’s Washington, D.C. luxury hotel has been the scene of multiple protests over the past year.

Last month, a photographer fell more than a dozen stories to his death from the LondonHouse Chicago hotel in an incident that was ruled an accident.
