As reported on the San Miguel Times, a Yucatecan photographer’s body was found dismembered in a dump near the coastal town of Chelem, Yucatan, and now it is informed that suspect Alejandro Lopez Geded, 27 years old, was arrested on December 29 for the murder of Luis González Contreras.

The suspect was transferred to the facilities of the State Attorney General’s Office, where a process for qualified homicide was opened, PRESIDIO informed.

In the investigation file it appears that, after killing Luis González Contreras, López Geded dragged his body to the bathroom, where he cut it with a butcher knife and separated the limbs from the torso.

Then, he climbed to the roof of the house with the upper body, which he set on fire to disfigure his face and make it unrecognizable. Afterwards, he covered the body with lime, placed in a sack, which he in turn put in a plastic bag and then drove the victim’s car to the municipal dump of Chelem, where he dumped the mutilated corpse.

Data of the investigation to which PRESIDIO had access show that Alejandro López was a very aggressive man with multiple personality problems, which had led his parents to expel him from their home.

It was December 19, the day of his disappearance, when Gonzalez Contreras returned home at 4 in the morning, and went to bed. As he was sleeping, Lopez took a hammer, and executed him with a blow to the head, and then proceeded to dismember the body, in order to get rid of it later next morning.

That evening, Gonzalez Contreras’ neighbors declared that “Lorenzo“, the black Labrador dog and Luis’ faithful companion, howled in an unsual way all night long, but nobody imagined the reason.

By the way in which the crime developed, it indicates that the murder was planned with treachery, since Alejandro Lopez Geded supplied himself with hammer, knife, gasoline, lime and plastic bags prior to the execution.

He is under custody of the State Attorney General’s Office, and his legal status is yet to be determined.
