The municipality of San Miguel de Allende has a new twinning, this time with the municipality of Rosarito, in the state of Baja California.
The mayor of San Miguel, Ricardo Villarreal, said that it was Rosarito municipality that sought them out and that shows that San Miguel is a national example in matters related to tourism.
“It’s about allying destinations, since we have similarities, similar tourist vocations and we have a market in North America,” explained Mayor Ricardo Villarreal.
Villarreal said that Rosarito wants to have a closer relationship with San Miguel, just as Los Cabos, “they do not have the cultural, traditional and historic atractions we have, but they have beautiful beaches and landscapes, and it’s the same case with Rosarito.”
“What is sought is to strengthen ties with this beach destination city, in the state of Baja California, which incidentally has a very large number of retirees (mostly Americans) residing there, just like San Miguel de Allende”, Ricardo Villarreal concluded.
