Guanajuato state a favorite destination for vacationers this summer

“This summer Guanajuato offers visitors activities and tours in the Magic Towns and Heritage Cities, as well as in the museums of the state capital, Dolores Hidalgo and San Miguel de Allende”, said the state Tourism Secretary, Fernando Olivera Rocha.

After a survey carried out on the website of Periódico correo, the users considered that the most interesting sites to visit during this vacation are Guanajuato capital and San Miguel de Allende, the question had a participation of 4,435 votes in a two-day period.

The draw was strong, while Dolores Hidalgo and León were considered as the next best places to visit.

Fernando Olivera Rocha in an interview with Notimex, announced that the state of Guanajuato has a large tourist offer for this summer, with the spas as mandatory destinations, with its hot springs in the south and center of the state, such as Abasolo, Silao and San Miguel de Allende, and as an additional attraction, Guanajuato offers cultural activities at the International Film Festival (GIFF).

The interviewee said that during two weeks people can enjoy films and other activities such as workshops and conferences.

Olivera Rocha invited all visitors to visit the state during four weekends in the month of August, and tour the vineyards where travelers can enjoy the local wine and the tradtional cuisine, a hallmark that during the current state administration has characterized the tourism sector of Guanajuato.

In addition, the Tourism Secretary explained that there are 518 unique experiences that 44 tour operators of the state have prepared for travelers to enjoy cultural experiences, gastronomy, routes and circuits, such as wine, mezcal, tequila, strawberry in Irapuato, cajeta in Celaya, or  leather, shoes and hats in the city of León.
