The state government, through the State Infrastructure Commission (CEI) and the State Water Commission (CEA) has planned to tender for the closure of the year over 1.3 billion pesos in works, the heads of these agencies reported during a meeting with entrepreneurs from the construction sector of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC).
Enrique Abedrop, executive member of the CEA, stated that this year 562 million pesos were allocated for the development of 69 works.
The resources have been applied in hydraulic, pluvial and drainage infrastructure works; mainly in the Metropolitan Area of Queretaro, where the infrastructure is deteriorated.
The coordinator of the CEI, Fernando González Salinas, said that due to the growth of the population in the state, (going from 485,000 inhabitants to 2,091,000, from 1970 to date), obviously, the demand for infrastructure has increased.
He stated that the State Infrastructure Commission is working on the development of road circuits in the Metropolitan Area, in order to improve mobility; as well as connection works to benefit the communities in the mountainous area of the state, along with sports and security facilities.
In three years, the State Infrastructure Commission has invested 7.3 million pesos in highways, roads and bridges, and it intends to apply 1,135,000 pesos more in the rest of this year.
González Salinas said that in three years he has worked in the Sierra Gorda on three road circuits. The Pinal-Jalpan-Landa has an advance of 68%; and the Infernillo with 3 projects completed.
In this area we worked on the creation and improvement of sports spaces with an investment of 18 million pesos. In addition, the Jalpan aerodrome was open in order to boost tourism in the region.
Regarding the southern region of the state, which includes San Juan del Río-Amealco, maintenance works have been carried out on the highway that connects Estancia with San Pedro Ahuactlán, with an investment of 64 million pesos.
Also in the municipality of San Juan de Río, a bridge was built in the community of Santa Rosa Xajay. In addition to the investment of 60 million pesos for highway 124 that connects the communities of La Valla with La Llave.
Finally, he mentioned the work of the metropolitan circuit that includes the 45 industrial parks, as well as highway 412 in Cerro del Cimatario.
