The bridge of La Cieneguita remains closed to circulation and will continue like that for approximately three months, which is what the repairs will last after the affectation suffered by the recent rains.

This was announced by the secretary of City Hall, Luis Manuel Orozco Arroyo, who recalled that this bridge was originally a temporary construction that was made approximately 15 years ago, “which included two structures, one designed for water to pass overhead and another made of metal tubes.”

He explained that when the river reached a certain level of water, circulation was supposed to be suspended. “What happened now is that the dam’s water level rose above the top and the force of the waters practically destroyed the bridge, which is now under water and we do not know how damaged the 12-inch metal tubes are, “said the city official.
