“The patriotic celebrations will leave Queretaro an economic spill of more than 90 million pesos, with the arrival of over 20,000 visitors, which would allow an average hotel occupation in the state of around 70%”, said Hugo Burgos, state secretary of Tourism.

During the Mexican Independence days various commemorative ceremonies and shows were held in different towns and at the state capital, where other types of activities of great attraction for visitors also converged.

For example, the Concheros Festival took place on the main streets Queretaro’s Centro, from Zaragoza, Corregidora and Independencia, all the way to the Temple of the Cross. It is a syncretism that has been preserved since the time of the Conquistdors, and fuses Christian faith with indigenous mysticism.

In addition, on September 15th, the last vintage of the year was celebrated in Viñedos Azteca, a place that preserves Mexican traditions, mainly the Charrería. The same day, in Juriquilla province, bullfights with took pace at the Plaza de Toros de Juriquilla.
