20 executions in 24 hours reported in the state of Guanajuato

20 murders were registered in 24 hours in the state of Guanajuato; executions were recorded in the municipalities of Salamanca, Pénjamo, Salvatierra and Irapuato

By 1 PM Tuesday Dec. 4, there were already 11 crime related deaths recorded in four municipalities, and in some cases there were multiple executions.

The first event occurred in the community of Yóstiro, Irapuato municipality; where minutes before 6:00 in the morning, a 40-year-old man was gunned down on the town’s main avenue.

A few minutes later, three people were killed in Salamanca; a woman, among the dead. They were assasinated by alleged hit men after a car chase.

In the muncipality of Salvatierra, three men were executed in the main garden of the community of Cupareo. The bodies presented shots the head and body.

On board a luxury car in Pénjamo, four men were murdered in the community of Guayabo de Origel and El Comalillo. The vehicle had license plates from the State of California, United States. The deceased were US residents, who had just arrived from to Guanajuato for the holidays.

Also in Irapuato, the body of a handcuffed man with traces of torture was found in the San Cayetano neighborhood. The body was found at 1:00 in the afternoon on Monday Dec. 5th.

Around 6 PM on Tuesday, a group of armed men killed 4 day laborers and injured 3 more, who are reported in serious condition. Irapuato residents demand justice, as they claim these men were inocent of any crime, and were ‘good people’.

A man who was shot in San Francisco del Rincón after 10:30 AM, died in a private clinic of the municipality later in the afternoon.

In another incident, a young man lost his life in a hospital in Silao after he was assaulted by two subjects, in the community of Coecillo. The man presented a gunshot wound to the head and died of traumatic brain injury.
