More than 11 thousand visitors attended the 2018 edtion of the “Festival de la Cajeta in Celaya, Guanajuato.
Exhibitors came not only from Celaya, but from other municipalities of the region and from different parts of the country, achieving an economic spill of 3.5 million pesos in just two days, Besides, there was an increase in the occupation of some hotels in the city.
The municipal government intends to institute this Festival as an annual event.
A large part of the exhibitors finished selling their products hours before the closing time, as the influx of visitors was so big, that there was not enough merchandise to meeto the deman.
All the exhibitors expressed their satisfaction with their participation in this festival, in which, in addition to cajeta, many more regional products could be found, such as different types of cheese and dairy products, also chilorio, salsas, chorizos, jamoncillos, obleas, candies, dulce de leche, crepes, ice cream, and even milk shakes.
Ana Laura García Mandujano, coordinator of Tourism Development, of the Council of Tourism of Celaya, who was in charge of organizing the event, together with the Association of Cajeteros de Celaya, said that the 2018 edition of the Cajeta Festival exceeded their expectations and that the municipal government intends to institute this Festival as an annual event.
