The Director of Culture and Traditions invited eleven young people between the ages of 14 and 25 with a penchant for street art, to perfect their technique through a workshop led by the urban artists Juce and Persak.

The murals created were tasked with manifesting art icons into mask awareness during the pandemic. The murals were painted in the neighborhoods of Guadalupe, San Rafael, San Antonio, and Cuevitas.

Though murals themselves are ephemeral the workshops created lasting opportunities for recreation, teamwork, and artistic expression all while promoting health and safety! Plus I particularly like how the Vermeer model dropped her pearl earring in favor of a more locally mined silver one.

When it comes to art, San Miguel de Allende rules!
