Bars and stores closed down in SMA due to lack of sanitary measures

San Miguel de Allende.- Civil Protection closed 5 businesses due to lack of sanitary measures on Saturday, November 14th; including two Oxxo convenience stores, and three bars.

In a routine tour part of the operation to verify preventive measures against the Covid-19 pandemic, Civil Protection agents proceeded to close down the Oxxo store located on the corner of Mesones and Pepe Llanos streets, the Oxxo on Juárez street was the second to close, in addition to three local bars: Mx, Silverio, and Adelia.

The five sanctioned businesses had the “Primero La Salud” seal withdrawn, which represents the necessary certification for the reopening, and by which they will have to initiate the application process to be reactivated and be able to open to the public once again.

In the closure operation agents of the Transit and Municipal Police supported the eviction of groups of people from public roads.

On May 22, in a session of the City Council, the Protocols for the Reactivation of Economic Activities were approved; one of them was to have the “Health First” certification so that the attendees will have the certainty that they are entering a safe place.
