What is a dental cleaning?
As we have mentioned previously, the main objective of dental cleaning is to eliminate bacterial plaque to prevent diseases, giving a fresh and maintenance to the teeth. By removing plaque, you can remove tartar and stains from your teeth. Which is very dangerous to our health, generally the way in which our body reacts to protect itself from the bacteria that are stored in tartar is inflammation and bleeding of the gums, leading to gingivitis or periodontal disease.
To perform the dental cleaning procedure, the dentist must first; make an analysis of the teeth, that is, the conditions in which they are found as well as the gums. This way he can identify if any teeth need more than just cleaning.
How is a dental cleaning performed?
After the analysis of the teeth mentioned above, the specialist will use an ultrasound instrument that will remove the plaque from the surface of the teeth, mainly below the gum line, where the bacteria that are the main causes of periodontal disease accumulate. After the removal of this plaque, it begins to remove the tartar that is under the gums or subgingival.
To finish, the specialist can use a jet of water under pressure with special bicarbonate to remove stains from the teeth on the surface. In some cases and depending on the dentist, you can also use dental floss and an anti-inflammatory gel for the gums, this only in case they are very swollen.
