San Miguel de Allende.- The mayor, Luis Alberto Villarreal García, officially announced the rehabilitation of the José María ‘Capi’ Correa Municipal Soccer Stadium with the signing of the agreement with the Municipal Sports Commission (Comude) and in which the state government thanks to an investment that exceeds 25 million pesos.
“The truth is that I am very happy, I want to send a big hug to Governor Diego Sinhue because he has not left us alone, here is not only the affection but the opportunity for us to have a better soccer stadium, love with love is paid and here we are complying. Congratulations! ”, said the municipal president.
After more than 30 years of construction, the stadium will have a restoration that includes the rehabilitation and construction of a synthetic grass court, a complete track & field facility with 3 lanes, roofing in stands, rehabilitation of dressing rooms (home team, visitors, and referees); rehabilitation of restrooms, façade and access gates to the stadium, as well as the restoration of bleachers and painting.
Roberto Granados, leader of the Ignacio Allende Soccer League expressed his gratitude to Mayor Villarreal García for dignifying this historic site, “this intervention was already necessary, I only have to thank you for everything”; he told the mayor.
It was between 1983 and 1985, during the period of President Luis Ferro de la Sota when the so-called municipal stadium was built, later, in the first administration of President Luis Alberto Villarreal, on June 14, 2005, with a unanimous vote of the H. Ayuntamiento, It was given the name of the José María “Capi” Correa Téllez Municipal Soccer Stadium.
The signing of the agreement was attended by the Secretary of Government and City Council, Jesús Gonzalo González; Alejandro Martínez Acosta, Municipal Treasurer; JavierPatlán, director of COMUDE and the director of Infrastructure and Public Works, Antonio Soria.
