Specifically from 2015 to 2020, San Joaquín was the municipality that decreased its population the most by losing 2.51 percent, followed by Peñamiller with a loss of 1.02 percent, Huimilpan -0.79 percent, Tolimán with -0.25 percent, Arroyo Seco with -0.25 percent and Cadereyta de Montes with -0.14 percent.
Specifically, the growth of the population of San Joaquín was irregular for 25 years, although always increasing, since in the five years of 1990-1995 it grew 3.26 percent, but from 1995-2000 the growth decreased to 0.54 percent. in 2000-2005 it fell to 0.07 percent, to increase again from 2005 to 2010 to 3.27 percent. From 2010 to 2015 it was registered 1.41 and in 2015-2020 it decreased -2.51 percent.
At the national level, the state of Querétaro is the second state with the highest population growth, registering a growth rate of 3.0 percent in the five-year period that includes 2015-2020, only surpassed by Quintana Roo with 4.26 percent.
On the other hand, Veracruz was the only Mexican state with a population decrease, by decreasing -0.12 percent in the five-year period in question, followed by Guerrero, which although it did not decrease, showed the lowest positive growth rate, 0.04 percent.
The national average growth was 1.06 percent, that is, Querétaro grows about 2.0 percent more than the national average.
