Two Leon-based shoe manufacturing companies are exporting their goods through Amazon, the first one makes children’s shoes, while the second one makes Harley Davidson boots.
León, Guanajuato.- Through the Amazon online store, two Guanajuato-based shoe firms export their goods. The president of the board of directors of the Chamber of the Footwear Industry of the State of Guanajuato said that one makes children’s shoes and the other one Harley Davidsons style boots (CICEG).
Since almost all delivery methods are very similar, Alfredo Padilla Villalpando explained that the results will start to be seen within a month or a month and a half. For the time being, the manufacturers have already begun working on exporting with this method.
Alejandra Gutiérrez, the municipal president of León, and Diego Sinhue Rodrguez Vallejo, the governor of Guanajuato, signed an agreement with Amazon earlier this month, announcing the start of operations and stating that the plant in this area will create more than 500 jobs and facilities for Guanajuato-owned businesses.
The businessman promised that as a result of this effort, gradually more enterprises will be allowed to export through this online platform.
One of the businesses supplying through Amazon is an expert in children’s shoes, and they have already begun production in Guanajuato for sales in August, once the basic level students begin attending classes in the upcoming school year 2022–2023.
Even if all businesses have a labor and raw material shortage as a result of inflationary increases, he said that sales of these products have already rebounded and that manufacturers are now operating regularly as they were before the pandemic.
Regarding the labor shortage, he asserted that there will be employers that would provide their employees with favorable working conditions and job security.
