The fair will open today June 7th, and will run until June 15; here are the details
With Spain as the guest country, the First San Miguel de Allende International Book Fair is born, which opens today and will run until June 15 at the Ignacio Ramírez El Nigromante Cultural Center.
The literary event, which will be inaugurated by the municipal president Mauricio Trejo, will feature the participation of 35 Latin American publishers, from Argentina and Spain; which are added to the exhibitors from Querétaro, State of Mexico, as well as from Celaya, León and Guanajuato, the organizers reported in a statement.
The first International Book Fair places us among the five or six cities in Mexico that have an international event of this type. And many countries in Latin America do not have an international fair. The recognition that we are going to start to acquire is remarkable,” said Acacio Martínez, head of the municipal Directorate of Culture and Traditions.
San Miguel will host the event, which will offer workshops, children’s activities, book presentations, lecture series, and artistic events, in addition to book sales.
The FIL San Miguel de Allende has its antecedents in the San Miguel de Allende Book Festival, which emerged in 2022, and which the following year became the Book Fair; now it debuts its international character.
