The recognition of San Miguel de Allende as part of “The Best of Guanajuato” reaffirms the municipality as a gastronomic ambassador of the state.
The city of San Miguel de Allende was awarded multiple prizes in the second edition of the “Best of Guanajuato” Awards. This contest, organized by México Desconocido in coordination with the State Government, recognizes the best activities, routes, experiences, and services that the region has to offer.
According to the authorities of this Municipality, the achievements obtained are due to the collaboration between the private sector of San Miguel de Allende, as well as the tourism strategies implemented in the city.
San Miguel de Allende is a gastronomic ambassador of Guanajuato
Among the recognitions for San Miguel de Allende as part of “The Best of Guanajuato” are those that reaffirm the municipality as a gastronomic ambassador of the state.
Likewise, it won the award in the category of Best Gastronomic Festival of Guanajuato, thanks to the event “San Miguel and its Flavors,” celebrating the diversity and richness of San Miguel food.
“It is the quality of the people, the services we have in San Miguel. This warmth is only found in San Miguel de Allende. We are ready to welcome you all, always with the best disposition and quality and above all the emblematic features of the city, the tourist offer that we have in the destination and that we are always at the forefront in different categories and we have everything,” said Tania Castillo, director of Tourism.

Beyond gastronomy, San Miguel de Allende shone in various categories, consolidating itself as a tourist destination of excellence in multiple aspects. Among the awards obtained are:

Best Traditional Hotel for a Family Trip: Hotel Real de Minas.
Best Wellness Experience: Escondido Place.
Best Venue to Celebrate a Wedding: Agua Bendita.
Wedding Planner with the Best Innovation: Penzi Weddings & Events.
Sustainable Tourism Award: Hacienda Cañada de la Virgen.
Accessible Tourism Award: Coyote Canyon Adventures.
It is worth noting that the 2024 edition of the “Best of Guanajuato” Awards had a record participation of 16,556 nominations. Of this total, 128 were finalists and 123,000 votes were cast, significantly exceeding the first edition last year.
