Mexico City is the region that accumulated the highest number of cases of monkeypox, with a total of 40, where all belong to the male gender.

With 11 new confirmed cases of monkeypox during the last week, our country accumulated 72 infections.

In its epidemiological bulletin corresponding to week number 35 -which covered from August 25 to 31-, the Ministry of Health reported that, with the registration of 5 cases, Baja California joined the entities that reported infected people, for which reason, currently the infections are distributed in 12 entities of the Mexican Republic.

It should be noted that since August 29, when the Ministry of Health emphasized that the confirmed cases corresponded to the “clade II” variant, identified since 2022, no report has been published on the presence of the new mpox variant “clade 1b” in the national territory.
