Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that this Thursday, November 7, she will have a phone call with Donald Trump, the Republican candidate who won the US presidential election.
“It is just a cordial congratulatory call,” she said at the People’s Morning Press Conference when asked if she would go to the United States to congratulate Trump.
She indicated that yesterday she congratulated Donald Trump, after the candidate Kamala Harris recognized the victory, “in such a way that it was no longer necessary to wait for the procedures of her electoral college, but it had already been recognized.”
“So at that moment we congratulated him and there will be a good relationship. I sent a formal letter that yesterday reached his hands, I hope, at least his team and we also proposed to congratulate him personally. Then they informed us that today at 9:30 in the morning…that we can prepare with the interpreter to be able to make this call.”
The Mexican President stressed that there will be time to discuss all the issues on the bilateral agenda, “which are many.”
