Iconic blues artist John Primer & the Real Deal Blues to perform in San Miguel de Allende.
The iconic blues musician John Primer, one of the most representative figures of the blues tradition, is ready to conquer Mexico with his Mexico Tour in November 2024. He will be in San Miguel de Allende in an exclusive musical experience.
From Chicago, Illinois, the famous blues musician, John Primer, will arrive in San Miguel de Allende in an event that will hardly be repeated in the following years.
The three-time Grammy nominee and winner of the Blues Award as Traditional Blues Artist in 2016, 2021, and 2023, in addition to being recognized in the Blues Hall of Fame in 2023, will perform in San Miguel de Allende on Saturday, November 23rd.
His music pays tribute to legends such as Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, and Magic Slim, and throughout his career, he has managed to establish himself as one of the best bluesmen in the world.
The Primer tour includes four stops in Mexico: Pueblo, on November 21, and San Miguel de Allende on Saturday, November 23 starting at noon at the Tres Raíces Vineyard.
At this event, Barrelhouse Blues & BBQ will offer an afternoon of various live performances by blues artists outdoors, with a totally family-friendly atmosphere and artistic activities for the little ones.
The event organizer Hernán Silic spoke about this event.
“John Primer is coming, that is fundamental, he is very big in terms of blues, there are no two living people who play this type of music. Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, and other music legends of rock would not exist, so, that is why this genre is so important, Primer has two Grammy nominations, in the Blues Hall of Fame, and he is a very respected person. He is an important person, but not very commercially popular,” Hernán Silic declared.
The Barrelhouse Blues & BBQ will offer an experience with three blues bands, two locals, and Mr. John Primer with all his musicians.
“It is an afternoon in a very family-friendly vineyard, where you have tents, where there will be activities for children, with workshops for them, activities with parents, it is an experience where you can be so close or so far from the concert,” added Hernán Silic.
On how the concept was defined, in a vineyard, with an energy that is combined with the blues, the organizer said:
“I have been a musician since 1991, the blues is my life and what I look for are experiences; there are many concerts around the world, you see the band, you live a nice moment, but that is all the memory is. Here the experience is being close to the musician with a one-meter-high stage, you can go with your family to have a unique, almost intimate experience, with a true giant of music”.
