A man was shot to death on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 22, in the municipality of San Miguel de Allende.
The murder occurred in a vacant lot where the victim used to hang out with other people, according to authorities at the scene.
The 911 emergency number received several calls after 12:30 noon from residents of the Santa Julia neighborhood.
They reported that at least eight gunshots had been heard on Conde de la Canal Street.
Municipal Police officers arrived minutes later and found a man of approximately 30 years old, with gunshot wounds.
Paramedics from the Red Cross responded to the officers’ call and examined the man who had already died.
The place was cordoned off and after the Criminal Investigation Agents (AIC) of the State Attorney’s Office carried out the expert appraisal, the victim’s body was taken to the Semefo facilities.
