With the renovation of the drinking water distribution network in the historic center, a more efficient service will be achieved for the people of San Miguel.
The problem that the neighbors have about the deterioration of the existing pipeline for 60 years has now caused the constant loss of drinking water and interruption of service, so the Municipal Government began the rehabilitation of said network on Insurgentes Street and Calzada de la Luz.
This work will impact more than 72,000 inhabitants in the urban area (72,452) and is carried out by the San Miguel de Allende Potable Water and Sewerage System (Sapasma), in coordination with the Guanajuato State Water Commission (CEAG).
With an investment of more than 8 million pesos ($8,297,719.00), both roads are being worked on over the next 9 weeks (75 calendar days starting on January 13), where work is already being done in morning, afternoon, and night shifts, to expedite the removal of more than 4 kilometers of obsolete pipes; to achieve this objective, four work fronts were established per week, which will be progressive and will have the necessary signage and protection for neighbors, pedestrians and vehicles; in addition to being a quality, fast and clean work.
In all sections, there will be partial closures to vehicular traffic, as the areas intervened in advance, by the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), through the Directorate of Traffic and Mobility.
