Quintana Roo Delegation visits the Vatican

On August 28 and 29, the delegation of the State of Quintana Roo visited Rome to participate in the traditional summer event: “Hands of the World in the Vatican: Quintana Roo” (Manos del Mundo en el Vaticano: Quintana Roo), which this year celebrated its fifth edition.

As every year, this event is organized in a joint effort involving the Mexican Embassy to the Holy See, and the government of Quintana Roo.

On Tuesday August 28th the visit to the Vatican precincts was carried out by the Quintana Roo delegation,  and on Wednesday 29th the official part took place, which began with the presence of the Quintana Roo delegation at the public hearing that was presided over by Pope Francis in the Plaza de San Pedro, who was presented with a brief musical act and a traditional dance, followed by the usual greeting and blessing to the state delegation.

In the afternoon the reception was held on the terrace of the Pinacoteca of the Vatican Museums. It was attended by high authorities of the State of Quintana Roo, as well as from the Holy See.

This emotional and colorful event that had an attendance of approximatelly 500 people, who could enjoy the Xcaret folk dance show, as well as the artisan and gastronomic sample that was offered for the occasion.
