Authorities secured the area and began investigations to clarify the events and find those responsible.

On Tuesday, February 18, around 4 p.m., authorities received a report about the discovery of a lifeless man near the community of Lira de Bocas, with apparent signs of violence.

The notice was made through the emergency system, alerting authorities about the presence of a body with gunshot wounds. Agents of the Municipal Police of San Miguel de Allende arrived at the site and proceeded to cordon off the area to preserve the scene and prevent the alteration of possible evidence.

Members of the National Guard and the State Public Security Forces provided support in safeguarding the area. Likewise, agents from the State Attorney General’s Office, through the Criminal Investigation Agency, went to begin the first inquiries and gather evidence that will help clarify the crime.

So far, the authorities have not revealed the identity of the victim nor have they provided information about possible perpetrators. It is expected that, after the investigations and the legal autopsy, more details will be obtained about the motive for the murder.

The State Attorney General’s Office will continue with the investigations to determine the circumstances in which the homicide occurred and to find those responsible. A call is made to the public to provide it anonymously to the authorities if they have relevant information.

San Miguel de Allende has been the scene of various violent events in recent months, which has led to the reinforcement of security operations in the municipality. However, the inhabitants continue to demand greater presence of law enforcement to guarantee their tranquility.

The authorities say they continue with the investigations, but as usual, no arrests are made and the bodies keep piling up.
