“CONQUE Querétaro 2017” blasts off on May 4

After a 16-year break, the “Conque” Comics convention returns to Mexico to bring together the best comics, movies and videogames, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars.

Stan Lee and Tom Holland to attend the prestigious event this year.

During a press conference held on Tuesday April 4th, the organizing committee announced “Conque 2017”, an international meeting regarding comics, movies and videogames that will take place on May 5, 6 and 7 in Querétaro.

Luis Gantús, Director of Conque’s content and founder; Humberto Ramos, Director of talent and Hector Hernandez, Director of operations and finance, said that the convention will also feature special conferences offered by El Santo, Kalimán and Chespirito. The last talk will feature Roberto Gómez Fernández. They also added that this edition seeks to celebrate Mexican superheroes.

Héctor Hernández said that organizers expect an attendance of more than 20,000 people per day. “We want to continue with this meeting at the same dates every year. For this occasion, we also announced that Querétaro will host until 2019.”

Among the most important events during this convention, on May 4 “Star Wars Day” will be held, which will be exclusive for those who purchase a three-day pass or a package.

In addition to having access to the exhibition floor, Star Wars’ fans will be able to attend a special presentation in the evening where they will tour the iconic moments of this important saga.

On Saturday May 6, the Spider-Man Red Carpet will be back with the presence of Tom Holland and Laura Harrier.

On Sunday May 7, Stan Lee will offer a talk at the Metropolitan Theater of the Congress Center.

Convención Quetzalcoatl” or “ConQue” (Quetzalcoatl Convention in honor to the the feathered serpent Aztec god of wind and learning) is a Mexican Comic Book Convention that was created and hosted in Mexico City in 1994 and ran thru 2001 and then just stopped. Now, in 2017 ConQue will return to our country, and for the first time it will be held in the city of Queretaro, Qro.
