“Starting on Tuesday June 7th you can lengthen the parking time Downtown up to 2 hours” stated Mayor Ricardo Villareal.
The signs in Downtown San Miguel are being modified to change provision.
The director of Traffic, Samuel Mercadillo, confirmed this statement and said that they received several complaints and accusations from tourists and residents who claimed that one hour was not enough.
The director of Traffic ordered the signs to be changed from 1 to 2 hours, he states that anyone who finds a parking lot has two hours to eat and even walk for a while through Downtown.
Streets such as Colegio Mesones, Hidalgo, Canal and San Francisco, will feature the two hour signs.
Mercadillo concluded that although this measure does not leave all users satisfied, it is part of a vehicle rotation project for the downtown area, so that everyone has the same opportunity to enjoy San Miguel.
