On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 August, wine tastings, conferences, delicious dishes, stomping-grape ceremonies and musical performances were part of the 4th Edition Grape Festival “Valle de la Independencia” (Independence Valley), of Guanjuato, which was held in the beautiful vineyards of San Lucas and San José La Vista in San Miguel de Allende.
According to the Ministry of Tourism of Guanajuato, in San Lucas vineyard, the attendees toured and tasted different labels and had a picnic banquet with traditional paella.
The celebration program of 4th Edition Festival “Valle de la Independencia” VENDIMIA GUANAJUATO (grape harvest) was completed with the stomping-grape ceremony and an amazing live music show.
In San Jose La Vista vineyard, the conferences “Trends of wine in Mexico” and “Marriage, harmony for the senses” took place along with a wine tasting event, accompanied with delicious skewers elaborated by chef Polo Ramirez.
This festival takes place from July 30 to August 27 in different municipalities of Guanajuato, such as San Miguel de Allende and Dolores Hidalgo, and it promotes the so called “wine tourism” which has generated significant economic benefits to various sectors in the state.
It is worth mentioning that, in the state of Guanajuato, 350 hectares of grapevine have been sown, featuring 24 varieties, and a total of 19 vineyards have been established; 14 of them sell 23 labels and produce more than 100,000 bottles of wine per year.
