State and municipal law enforcement organizations to strengthen in SMA

SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, Gto.-  On Thursday August 18, Secretary of Public Security of the State of the Guanajuato, Álvar Cabeza de Vaca Appendini and Municipal Secretary of Public Security, Traffic and Civil Protection of San Miguel de Allende, Ricardo Benavides Hernandez, got together to establish collaborative actions between these two law enforcement organizations, in order to preserve San Miguel as a safe haven for foreign and national tourists and residents.

As a result of this meeting, it was agreed that police presence will be strengthened with the coordination of State and Municipal Public Security forces, through mobile and itinerant operations in urban and rural surrounding areas.

Besides, coordinated analysis strategies and exchange of information between the different divisions of the State Public Security Forces (FSPE – Fuerzas de Seguridad Pública del Estado) and Municipal Police will be established, in order to effectively combat criminal behaviors.

On the other hand, social programs aimed at preventing violence and crime will also be implemented, with citizen participation in order to disseminate prevention and self-care messages among the population.

With these actions, the State Secretariat of Public Security and the municipal authorities of San Miguel de Allende, will coordinate operations for the construction a better public safety.
