Guanajuato government distributes 19,300 computers to teachers

On Monday October 17, the Governor of Guanajuato State, Miguel Marquez Marquez participated on the “third delivery of computers” to teachers as part of the “Information Technologies for Basic Education Teachers Fund” (Fideicomiso de Tecnologías de la Información para maestros de educación básica).

More than 6,300 computers will be distributed to all teachers affiliated to the Sections numbers 45 and 13 of the SNTE, with a total investment of 67.5 million pesos (approximately 3.3 million USD) with resources from the State, the Federation and the National Union of Education Workers (Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educación).

The “Information Technologies for Basic Education Teachers Fund” is integrated with federal and state resources; for this year, at least 19,993 computers have been delivered to basic education teachers.

The brands acquired by the government are: Toshiba, Lenovo, Acer and Lanix. During the event alone, state authorities handed over 1,400 Toshiba computers.

The event was attended by the SNTE’s General Secretaries of sections 13 and 45, Adriana Sanchez Lira and Bertha Solórzano Lujano; SEP’s State Delegate, Fernando Bribiesca Sahagún and Governor Miguel Marquez Marquez.
