Next year, the Polytechnic University of Querétaro will be become the “Automotive Polytechnic University”, according to Querétaro’s Secretary of Education, Alfredo Botello Montes.

In that sense, this educational institution will be the second automotive high education center in the state.

Botello said: “Adjustments will be made to the current courses in order to specialize and prepare capable human capital for the automotive sector”.

“We are expecting to carry out the adaptation process next year, focusing on this important industry, taking into consideration that today Mexico, and more specifically our state of Queretaro, is reference in the automotive industry worldwide, in car manufacturing and auto parts production.” Botello Montes continued.

“This project has already been proposed to the General Coordination of Technology and Polytechnic Universities of the Public Education Secretary (Coordinación de tecnológicos, Politécnicos y Universidades de la Secretaría de Educación Pública: SEP). With this new initiative, over 2,700 students will be able to specialize in this sector”.

Botello declared: “This project is different from the Automotive University that was planned by the previous state administration, and besides, that project was never completed; the “delivery-reception” process never came through, and it was only “one more political campaign promise that never came to reality.”

“Our state requires a radical transformation of the existing universities, we better facilities and better programs in order to have better prepared graduates”, the State Secretary of Education concluded.
